6-23-20   THOUGHTS

I bought some Flex Seal for a project yesterday.  The word SEAL is on my mind this morning. It is a marvelous word as used in the Word.  We start with a most physical definition.
Matt 27:66  And they went and made the grave secure, and along with the guard they set a seal on the stone.
They did the best they could here, but you can’t seal out God!  It’s only when GOD SETS THE SEAL that SECURITY is truly confirmed authenticated and placed beyond doubt.

John 3:33  "He who has received His testimony has set his seal to this, that God is true.
John 6:27  "Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal."
2Cor 1:21-22   Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God,  22  who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.
SEAL-SPIRIT-PLEDGE       POWERFUL!
Eph 1:13  In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation — having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,
Eph 4:30  Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
2Tim 2:19   Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness."
I’m not sure I understand the fulness of all that is written above, but I know I feel better having read it all!
Rom 8:31-32   What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?  32  He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?
Heb 6:18-19   so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us. 19  This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil,

My Prayer:
Dear God over all, thank you for the assurances you have given us about our belonging to you!   Thank you for sealing us and giving us your Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.  Teach each day to love you with all our hearts and souls and minds.  Keep us from the things of this world!  Help us to walk in the shadow of the Cross.

In the name of Jesus               Amen
